Swami Shri Shivdharmanandaji Paramhans Smrati Sansthan (SSPSS)

Introduction

Swami Shri Shivdharmanandaji Paramhans Smrati Sansthan (SSPSS), a non-profit, tax-exempt (80 G) charity, was founded in December 2000 by one of his devotees –Durgashanker Nagda and 10 other members of the society, at 5, Kushalbagh, Ayed, Udaipur , India. On completion of its building, also known as VCM Clinic building, in Meera Coloney, Ayed, Udaipur in 2004 it was moved there permanently. Udaipur is a beautiful picturesque city in the heart of the Aravali Hills in Rajasthan, as can be seen here. SSPSS was founded to accomplish its following mission around the globe beginning with this region:

Mission: To promote peace, love, and happiness through education, health, charity, counseling and spiritual growth and understanding of human values at a sustainable pace for all humanity –particularly in the deprived areas.

Objectives: The following objectives are aimed at in order to accomplish the above stated mission:

  • To provide primary health services to poor and destitute.
  • To provide food, water, shelter, and education to orphans and turn them in to a respectable citizens.
  • To provide an ideal school for the orphans and poor children where they can get moral and ethical education along with traditional education and bookish knowledge.
  • To help boast moral, self confidence, and self reliance, and independent living in many abused and battered women, children and widows in the society.
  • To provide a forum of freethinking for senior citizens and adults where they can read newspapers and library books.
  • To provide a state of the art specialty hospital in the area where these facilities are not available.

SSPSS is a non-profit registered charity under Registrar of Societies, Government of Rajasthan, and approved under Section 80-G of the Income Tax Act of 1961. Your donations are tax-exempt up to the limit allowed by said Act.


2. Executive Committee:

The executive committee is the supreme executive body responsible for steering all activities of the SSPSS. It consists of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The following executives are elected for the session 2007 to 2008:

  • President: Shri Shanti Lal Godawat, Retd Civil Engineer, Udaipur.
  • Vice President: Shri Vishnu Shanker Sharma “Hiteshi ”, Retired Teacher
  • Secretary: Shri Vimal Chand Godha
  • Treasurer: Dr. Deepak Paliwal Paliwal, MS, MBBS.

Services

Founders of the SSPSS have provided following humanitarian services in past:

  • Gujarat Earthquake relief operation in January 2001.
  • Free schooling to poor children during 2000.
  • Free primary medical services by volunteer M. B. B. S doctor during 2000.
  • Books and tuition fee to poor and orphans 2000.
  • A scholarship fund for merit cum need students was established during 2001.
  • Free food, clothing and footware to poor school children.
Present Services :
  • Under the auspicious grace and blessing of Honorable Shri Sunder Singhji Bhandari, Ex-governor of Bihar and Gujarat , SSPSS has started a V. C. M. Charity Clinic in Ayed, Udaipur where free medical consultations are provided to all by highly qualified and experience M. B. B. S., M. S., medical doctor, and free medicines are given to poor, disable, and old people. A team of four professionals –a part time medical physician, a full time registered trained nurse, a full time registration clerk and assistant, and a part time cleaning lady –all on an honorarium, man the clinic. A budget of Rupees. 5000 per month is allotted to distribute free medicines as ordered by the doctor.   • Apna Paraamarsh Kendra (Maanasik Aarogya) i.e., Counseling Center: The center was opened by Dr. (Mrs) Vijaya Laxmi Chouhan, Head of the Department of Psychology, Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, Udaipur on November 15, 2005. Dr. Rashi Mathur, Ph. D., provides counseling to abused and battered women and children on a part-time basis as needed. Dr. Mathur has conducted workshops in February 2006 to increase awareness of women condition to many local women. There is a counselor's office for individual counseling and a big hall for group counseling and rehabilitation of battered and abused women, children and widows during day.   • Apna Vaachanaalaya Avam Pustakaalaya (Our Libray and Reading Room for Seniors and Adults: A library and reading room was opened on November 15, 2005 by Shri Shanti Lal Nagda, Registrar, Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, Udaipur. Religious books and newspapers of interest are made available to senior citizens and adults. A big hall is provided for the reading room and library. Click here for library photos.

Infrastructure is currently available for the following services:

  • Angel Orphanage: An existing building was completely renovated to house an orphanage. It has now new plaster on all inside and outside walls, marble floor in all rooms, 24 hrs running water, and sanitary services. It is complete with a kitchen, and dining area ready to house 10-20 orphans as soon as the institution finds a warden to care for these children.
  • Adarsh School : A big hall and one room are completely ready for starting a school for orphans and poor as soon as a teacher is found.

  • Specialty Hospital: Approximately 20,000 square feet of land worth about Rs. 50 laks is available for this purpose.

Planned Services : SSPSS plans to operate the following services in future:

  • Angel Orphanage : Approximately 10-20 orphans will be provided with free food, clothes and shelter. Free education and health care will be provided to them.
  • Adarsh School : Approximately 20+ students -mainly orphans and poor, will be provided moral and ethical edcuation along with traditional elementary education at this school. Orphans will then be sent to regular public school.
  • Specialty Hospital : A specialty hospital will be constructed at the land available. This will be a specialty hospital with approximately 50 beds and state of the art hospital equipments for surgery, emergency and health care. Specialists will be invited from United States of America to provide their services and expertise to patients. This will also provide an exchange of dialogue and training facilities to the local physicians who are expert in that area of specialization.

4. Membership:

Membership of SSPSS is open to all people irrespective of their caste, color, religion, social status, or age. There are four grades of members: Patron, Life Members, Annual Membership, Honorary Membership, as prescribed in the bylaws of SSPSS for a moderate fee, such as Annual membership fee is Rs. 100 per year.
