Durga S. Nagda President, HOPE Foundation, is a professional engineer registered and licensed in the State of Florida and Kentucky. He is also a registered land surveyor licensed in Kentucky currently inactive. He is M. Phil. (1973) with distinction in mine environment Heat and Mass Transfer in Hot Wet Mines, Grad. I. E. in mining engineering (1966), and D. Min. Eng. (1961). He has worked as environmental engineer for last over 28 years in Ohio, Kentucky and Florida. He taught at the University of Jodhpur (1964-74) India, University of Leeds, Leeds England (1972-73), Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, India (1975-77), Belmont Technical College in Ohio (1978-79) and at the University of Kentucky, Hazard Community College (1980-86). He worked as consulting engineer with Hellard and Whitakar Engineering Inc. (1986-88), as environmental engineer with Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection (1988-99, and 2001-2002). He was project engineer with Florida Department of Transportation (2002-03), and is currently Stormwater professional engineer with the City of Lake Mary, Florida (2003-08).
He is interested in spiritual studies, Yoga, helping children and old people, educating and rearing orphans and charity. In February 2001 he has taken relief supplies for earthquake victims of Gujarat. He is associated with Narayan Seva Sansthan, Udaipur, India in helping their cause of helping disabled children from polio. In 2004 he has started a VCM Charity Clinic for poor, disable and destitute people. He has helped Mooljibhai Patel Urology Society for research in Nephrology.
